The State Advisory Council on Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness formed in October 1998 (Chapters 1 and 2, Acts of 1998). The Council advises the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene on administration of the Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Fund. The Fund is used to promote public education and awareness about organ, tissue and eye donations (Code Health-General Article, secs. 13-901 through 13-906).
