In January 1998, the Governor created the Women's Health Promotion Council (Executive Order 01.01.1998.05). The Council identifies issues facing women at each stage of their lives, catalogs their health needs, and develops guidelines and resources to meet these needs. The Council also documents the health and economic benefits resulting from investments in services for women.
