    In Maryland, if federal and State observances of a holiday fall on different days, each local board of education determines on which date the holiday will be observed in its public schools (Code Education Article, sec. 7-103).

    January 17 (Monday) Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Birthday* (observed)

    November 24-25 (fourth Thursday & Friday) Thanksgiving Day and the day after
