Maryland sent 39 delegates to the 2004 Republican Party National Convention. Of these, 24 delegates and 24 alternates (3 from each Congressional District) were chosen by Republican voters in Maryland's primary election on March 2, 2004. The remaining fifteen included the State Chair, the two National Committee members, and 12 at-large delegates chosen by the Republican State Central Committee at its State convention, April 30 - May 5, 2004.
